Robert M. Monczka, Ph.D., is the former Distinguished Research Professor of Supply Chain Management in the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University and Professor Emeritus at the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management, Michigan State University. He also served as director of Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain Strategy Research at CAPS Research, where he led initiatives focused on sourcing and supply strategy innovation, development, and implementation. A frequent speaker at professional meetings, Dr. Monczka has published more than 200 books and articles. He has consulted worldwide with leading companies in the Fortune 100 and has received two National Science Foundation grants to study supply strategy.

The book is ok as far as text books go. It does get a little bit repetitive at times and does not go into as much detail on certain items as I would like but its a good book for students who are new to the world of purchasing. I would recommend a different text if you want more of a supply chain focus.
I would recommend Bookbyte as a seller for sure. The best price I could find for it new, and it was delivered quickly with no shipping charge. This text was mandatory for my class, and even the instructor didn't like it using it. It is very informative, but does not read well. Everyone in the class felt the same about readability.
Love this book! I bought this book for my procurement class. I learned a lot from this book. There are a lot of examples and good definition for each important words
This book is huge and wordy. Good book and easy to read, but there's so much unnecessary material in it. It is also ridiculously expensive if you want to buy it. Renting it might be the better choice.
Used this for a supply chain class in an MBA program - one reason is because the professor was one of the authors!It was a good text and had a number of real world case studies.I enjoyed it
